I'm getting good at consistently posting here. Yay me!
We had a long weekend because of the Pioneer Day Holiday. I was suprised Matt actually took the time off, but was smart enough not to question it!
Thursday we did some yard work in the morning. I finished staining the fence slats and Matt finished the jigsaw work on the BBQ remodel. We ran errands in the afternoon - spent a bunch of money at the Home Depot, as is customary on long weekends.
Friday we had planned to go to the pool, but my allergies were quite bad so we ran errands and hung out at home, instead.
Saturday we did the kids pictures first thing in the morning - finally! I will post them later. I just wanted to mention it now, so that I won't forget :)
In the afternoon we went to the pool. It's a totally different place on the weekends! Less than half of the people that are normally there on weekdays, and a totally different crowd. Matt said he was dissapointed...he'd been expecting to see all the wierdo's that I'm always telling him about! LOL - I guess he'll have to come on a Thursday to get that crowd.
Saturday night was Sebastians Birthday party. Lisa rented a bounce house and the kids had a blast. We had thought we might stick around after for a while to play guitar hero with L'Jean, but Mike's family lingered and lingered and we didn't want to be rude and try to play with them there, so we just helped clean up and then took off around 8:00.
Sunday we worked in the yard all day. It's never ending! It almost makes me wish for winter, lol!
I was stung by a wasp while working! I was gathering up a plastic wrapper Matt had taken off something he was working with - the wasp must have been inside the plastic. It hurt! I'm not a person who's afraid of bees, wasps, etc, but this was painful! It got me on the inside of my left elbow, it felt like I'd been elecrocuted! And then the pain lingered...
My arm swelled up right away, then the swelling went down and a welt appeared where the sting was. The welt went away soon, though, and there was nothing to mark the sting. It hurt, off and on, all day, though.
While we were outside Tessa was riding her bike, drawing with sidewalk chalk, playing with the dogs, etc. She likes to loop her jumprope through one of the dogs collars and pretend to walk them. I always tell her not to, she always does it anyway.
She usually plays with Indy, because she's more mellow. Sunday she wanted to play with Allie, though. She couldn't get her to be still, ans was frusterated. She says to me "mommy! Allie will never sit still! She's always moving around! That's why I like Indy better."
Such an ironic comment from Tessa - the girl who goes and goes until she just collapses. LOL!
We got our Guitar Hero fix Sunday night :) Don't know why we love that game so much, but it's addictive!
We also rented a couple of movies over the weekend. So far we've watched 2 or 3 - The Bank Job and Untraceable. Both were really good!
Today Matt and I began a Workout Challenge.
For the purpose of the challenge a workout is defined as at least 30 minutes in the gym. Also, each DAY you workout is counted, not each time you work out. This distinction was made by Matt when he asked "what happens if it's a draw?" and I answered "I'll workout twice on the last day of the challenge to make sure it's not!" LOL
Our challenge will run from today (July 28th) until September 1 - 5 weeks.
The winner gets to steal one player from the losers fantasy football roster. We do both get to protect 3 players, but other than those 3, everyone is up for grabs. High stakes!!!
Matt woke up early this morning to get his workout in before work. I'll be heading downstairs as soon as Asher goes down for his nap...
I'll post those pictures later!
