Tessa is a Brownie Scout this year and is selling Girl Scout Cookies!
We went door-to-door on Saturday. A friend (and fellow girl scout) came over and we canvassed the neighborhood for just over an hour. Later, she and her friend (Rowan) went back to her neighborhood and sold cookies there, with her mom.
I was surprised at how many people weren't at home. I thought people stayed home on Saturday? Guess that's just me!
When people were home, we didn't have any trouble selling cookies.
Tessa would say "Hi, I'm Tessa and she's Rowan. We're selling Girl Scout Cookies, if you want some." then she'd hold out her form. After a while Rowan took over at some houses "Hi, I'm Rowan and she's Tessa. We're selling Girl Scout Cookies, if you want some."
People were (for the most part) pretty stoked to see a girl scout.
The organization has the right idea.
Make a tasty cookie and only sell it once a year.
People will never even notice that they are over-priced, they're too excited to get their hands on a box of samoas or thin mints.
It's an awesome fundraiser, because the product sells itself. And anyone who's "dieting" can usually be persuaded when you tell them the cookies won't be here for 6 weeks.
I only wish they were sold in another month. January is COLD. Going door-to-door is tough when it's 20 degrees outside.
Anyway, if you want to buy some girl scout cookies from Tessa, let us know! We can ship them if you are out of state :)
