"When I get bigger"

Matt mentioned to me yesterday that I "never" write here anymore.
Well, I'm busy!
Still - the last thing I want to be accused of is being a bad blogger ;)
Plus, I wrote this down just the other day and wanted to share it here...

The background -
Lego's are a favorite toy at our house. At least one or two days a week I help Asher build a tower or a castle...he plays with his legos almost every day and loves them.

We're still using Duplos at our house.
However, we have a gigantic bucket of regular size legos in the basement. Matt's childhood legacy. The kids are very interested in these legos and ask when they'll be able to use them quite often. The answer, of course, is "when you're a little older"

Tessa is going to play soccer this Spring. She's very excited and has talked about it quite a bit. Asher wants to play, too (naturally) but isn't old enough.

Earlier this week Asher asked to play with a puzzle he got for Christmas. It's a 24 piece Cars puzzle, which is just a little complicated for him. The only puzzles we've done so far are the wooden kinds, where the piece fits right into the space for it.
It's time he move up, though, so we got out the Cars puzzle and Tessa helped him put it together.
We left it out (on the tile floor in the kitchen) to show daddy when he got him, and at some point someone bumped it and it broke apart.
This time, I helped him put it back together. I told him when he was a little bigger he'd be able to do it all by himself - to which he replied

"Right. When I get bigger I will know how to do it.
But first! after! I want to do soccer.  And then I want to play with those little legos.
And THEN I will do the puzzle"

Poor thing! It's hard to remember that at 3, he must feel "too little" for everything!

But I still wish he wouldn't get any bigger!
