It's been a while since I posted a brag about my sweet girl...I figure it's time!
She ended up selling the most cookies in her Girl Scout troop. Not too hard to do when her extended family bought so many! Grandma and Papa Moody bought $140 worth! A case of that (or maybe more) was for friends/coworkers, but still!
I took her out to Nana's credit union and she walked around and sold a bunch of boxes there.
The next day I took her to Grandpa Kevin's dealership and she walked around there, too. She ended up selling about 100 boxes of cookies to the employees there!
The great thing about those trips was that she did all the selling herself! She's a natural - very earnest and sweet...and just pushy enough :)
Delivering 450 boxes of cookies was a serious pain in the butt, though, and that fell mostly to me. Next year I don't know if we'll encourage her to sell quite so many, lol.
We sold at Cookie Booths, too. The first weekend it snowed and we were lucky to move our booth (scheduled to be outside at the Home Depot) to an indoor location.
The next weekend we were outside at Saddle Up, a notoriously good booth location. The girls had a blast playing outside (in weather that was MUCH better than the weekend before!)

And yes...Asher was there. Matt was home to keep him, but he threw a fit at the last minute and wanted to go with me. So I let him.
I had Tessa's parent teacher conference last week. She's doing well, of course.
We had some trouble with her back in February. For an entire week she came home from school and told me her homework was already done - she'd finished it at loading. I only checked her backpack one day.
Turns out that the one day I checked on her happened to be the only day she'd actually done anything. The rest of the week she just didn't do her homework.
We were livid when we found out. I was especially upset because I knew it was at least 50% my fault...why hadn't I checked on her more? I just didn't expect her to lie to me like that...
She was punished (grounded for the weekend, a bigger punishment for me than her, probably) and since then I've checked on her religiously.
Her grades this quarter were not as great as they have been in the past. Instead of A's (like she's always gotten before) she ended up with a B in reading and a B+ in math. That missing homework hurt!
However, the teacher also shared the results of their standardized testing with me, and Tessa's was very impressive.
She tested at a 5th-6th grade level in Math
Her Language Usage (vocabulary) tested at a 5th grade level
And she tested at a 7th grade level for reading/reading comprehension.
She recently found a book in the book order catalog that she wanted me to order for her. It looked a little advanced, so I checked it out from the library (along with it's sequel) instead.
She read it in just 2 days and LOVED it. So I picked it up...and read the whole thing that night. It was awesome. We both read the sequel, too.
She loved sharing a book with mom and told everyone about it. So cute!
I took this picture of her reading the sequel one morning over Spring Break. The camera didn't like the light, so the quality kind of sucks, but I love it, anyway. She looks so pretty and sweet!
The sweet part is just an appearance, btw.
She started Soccer last week and loves it.
She's really good, too!
I forgot my camera at her first game, but I'll be sure to take it tomorrow! In the meantime, here's a picture of her and her friend, Rowan, at their first practice :)
I think that's it about Tessa for now.
She's our challenging child - she just has a tendency towards naughtiness! She lies often - about dumb things! (yes, my room is clean...no, I didn't do that...) and if you tell her NOT to do something she's drawn to it like a magnet. Plus, she's more hyper than any 10 kids...
But she's so affectionate and loving and smart and clever that it's easy to forget those things most of the time.
