Back to School is always bittersweet...excitement about school mixed with sadness that our summer is over. This year, to celebrate the end of the summer, we tried to fit some fun activities in!
Matt took the last Friday of Tessa's Summer vacation off work so we could do some fun family things together over a long weekend.
We went to a splash pad park on Friday.
This place is awesome!
It's adjacent to the Highland City Hall Building and it's free to use. There's a splash pad and a river that the kids can play in...and all the cement is treated with something so that the kids don't slip even when they run! Amazing. I wish my city would get on the ball and build something similar!
The kids had a blast :)
On Saturday we went to a Birthday party for our neighbor. There was a bounce house and the kids had a blast playing.
On Sunday we went to an apricot orchard in Centerville and picked apricots so I could make jam with them.
I was really surprised at how much the kids enjoyed picking the fruit! There were ladders in the trees and they had a blast climbing them to pick the higher apricots.
On the way home from the orchard Tessa said "Hey mom, you should post that we went to pick apricots on Facebook, and see what people say!"
Matt about swallowed his tongue. How does she know that's what Facebook is for??? Obviously it's because she listens ALL the time (except when she's supposed to be!)
