I'm slacking already on this journal thing. But really, I think it's just a result of the season. I think about posting, I just haven't had time.
Honestly, I shouldn't even be here now. I have budgeting to do, or I should be finishing the neighbor gifts, or making my bed. Working out would be best. But the ground turkey is thawing the microwave for another 6 minutes, and once it's out I'm going to put dinner in the crockpot - anyway, I decided now was the time.
We're less than a week from Christmas. Thank God. I am so ready for the season to be over so I can slow down for 5 minutes! Yeah...right.
Last Sunday I made my first attempt at family pictures! I used my new tripod and remote and did them myself. The ones that I was behind the camera for turned out best. When I used the remote the auto-focus got a little confused and we're a bit blurry. I'll pick a background that's not as busy next time. Anyway, they turned out a lot better than the crap JC Penny's did! I designed my own Christmas cards, too. That's the problem with knowing what you like, I suppose - you always want to do it all yourself.
I'll add the pictures so they are here.
We're all healthy, for now. Asher has a bit of a cold, but he seems to be getting over it quickly. Matt took a handful of cough drops to work with him this morning. I hope he's not going to get sick! Last year he brought home a horrible cold and then passed it to all of us.
It snowed here again last night and this morning. Matt shoveled about 5 inches off the driveway this morning before he went to work. It's a good thing I chisled the last of the ice off yesterday afternoon! Otherwise it would have been really tough. We should buy a snowblower, but I'm too cheap. There are SO many other things I'd rather spend the money on! Instead, we'll just keep straining our backs and saving the money.
Hey - I need the exercise, anyway!
Tessa seems to learn a new Christmas song at school every day. She's always suprised that I can sing along with her. I keep telling her that mommy knows them all, but she doesn't seem to believe me. Yesterday was "ho, ho, the mistletoe, hung where you can see...somebody waits for you, kiss them once for me!" - she sings it so cute!
Daddy stopped on the way home and bought some real mistle toe to hang. I'm going to try to get it up today. She's very excited about it!
That's it for now - the turkey is done!
