It's amazing how quickly time flies. I swear, every time I turn around it's a new week. Individual days - even the long ones - are gone in the blink of an eye.
Asher had a nasty cold last week. A flemy, rattling cough and a runny nose. He felt miserable, poor baby. The awful thing is that he's sweet as can be when sick. He wants me to hold him and kiss him and rock him...and I love it, of course. He started getting better on Thursday, which was one week exactly from the day he first started showing symptoms. It was also the day that Tessa started sniffling. She developed the cough on Friday and has been fighting it ever since. Poor kid. She's sweet when she's sick, too. Funny, isn't it? They're both so hyper normally that when they're sick and have to stay still they're sweet and lovey!
Yesterday was St. Patricks Day. Tessa wore green ribbons in her pigtails to school and looked adorable, as usual. When I picked her up from school she was so excited she was talking a mile a minute - even faster than usual - despite her cold! It had been her turn to be Student of the Day - which just delights her - plus Leprechauns had been into their classroom and left little green foot prints all over. They'd been into 5 childrens cubbies...one was Tessa's!
Spring break starts on Thursday. She'll have Thursday, Friday and Monday off school. I'm planning a playdate one day - maybe with Brayden. I've heard so much about him I'm dying to meet him and see them interact. I'm also planning a trip to the Library for Story Time. I keep meaning to take her, it was on my to-do list all summer - but we've never gotten around to it. We'll see if I can make it happen this time.
Friday is my Birthday. I'm turning 25 again.
Matt is taking the day off so I can go to the day spa. Becki, Deanna, Natalie and I are going for pedicures, facials and scalp treatments. We're going to dinner that night with the whole group. Should be a fun Birthday - if I can keep from getting sick! Asher had it, Tessa and Matt have it now, and I'm still mostly healthy. I figure I ought to get sick on Thursday, just in time!
Sterling's mom, Rebecca, has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She started her chemo last Wednesday. As a gift to her, Deanna wanted to have family pictures taken, and she asked me to do them. So last Tuesday I met the family and took their pictures. It was a really fun experience and the pictures turned out pretty good. They weren't able to get together until 6:00, so the light was going fast by the time we started. The first pictures are far superior to the last. But overall, I think I did a good job. I was nervous - it was the first time I've taken pictures of anyone other than my family!
I had a great time doing it. The editing is time consuming, but at least I can do it on my own schedule at home. Anyway - it's kind of made me consider doing it for other people. I wouldn't go so far as to start a business, but I could do it for friends and make a little money at it. I didn't charge Sterling and Deanna or their family, of course, but in the future I could. I've been checking out photographers prices and they are very high. I could charge 2/3 of what they do and be happy. We'll see.
Easter is Sunday - it's so early this year! We're having Brunch at Becki's and then lunch/dinner (?) at Matt's parents. On Saturday we're having the kids pictures taken at Kiddie Kandids. I wanted to do them myself outside, but the weather has been so terrible lately that I'm nervous it wouldn't be nice. Not to mention the fact that everything is dead and ugly. Anyway, Lisa called and asked if we would meet her there to have pictures done with Sebastian and McKenzie, so I decided we'd do a sitting, too.
Lisa had Moody Equipment hats made for the kids and we're having their picture taken in them to give to Jesse for his Birthday in April. Very cute idea. Now I'll need to come up with something nice - we're supposed to be going to St. George for the weekend with the family to celebrate. I'm never sure if those things will actually pan out or not.
That's the update for now. I need to try to work out while Asher is napping and Tessa's at school. I'll do my best to write next week.
