So I started this blog becuase I'm awful at writing in a journal and I thought I'd be better about writing if I were doing it were on a computer.
Turns out I'm not very good at keeping up on Blog, either.
It's been just over a month since I posted, which sucks.
We've been busy - but doing nothing. The weather here is still disgusting. We're cosistently hitting 35 to 40 degrees now, and it's been just under a week since it snowed last. It's melting...slowly. In the valley you can see grass and dirt most places. Here on our mountain we have about 6 feet of snow in the front yard, which is a vast improvement over the 12 feet we had a couple of weeks ago.
Tessa tells me everyday that she wishes it was summer. My answer is "me, too, baby"
We've got cabin fever.
For Presidents Day a couple of weeks ago Becki and I took Joey, Tessa and Asher bowling. I thought getting out of the house to do something fun would do her good. She bowled pretty well. A 71 her first game, I believe, and a 69 her second game. She used the roller, but placed it where she thought it should go and pushed the ball down it herself - with help from Joey occasionally.
For Matt's Birthday I threw a Mardo Gras party. Everyone dressed up and wore masks - even though the party actually fell 4 days after Mardi Gras ended. :p
I cooked tons of cajun food - a creamy crab soup that was to die for, blackened green beans, creole potatoes with sausage, jambalaya and banana's foster for dessert. Matt made blackened catfish, which was awesome.
Our friends all went in on his Birthday gift - two new games for the Wii, some gourmet beers and a couple of reeces peanut butter cup candy bars :)
The kids gave him a Wii gun for one of his new games, I gave him a new suit to wear to the party, a box of ammo and a gift certificate for the shooting range.
We had his family to dinner the following weekend and cooked nearly the same menu - minus the Jambalaya and with peanut butter cheesecake for dessert instead of banana's foster.
So there's an update. It's probably missing lots - but it's all the important stuff I can think of right now!
