Matt is out of town this week. Normally he only has to travel for 2 or 3 days, but this time it's longer than that. He left Monday morning (if you can call it morning!) at 2am. He'll be back on Saturday, most likely.
We were supposed to be going to Moab this weekend with friends, but his work cut into that. We both feel terrible, especially since the last time we planned to travel with friends we ended up cancelling on them. Then it was becuase our sitter bailed on us.
Anyway, he's gone. We miss him.
Asher often goes to bed before Matt gets home and sometimes wakes up after he's left, so he shouldn't really be aware that he's gone - but he seems to be. He's trying to stay up later at night, I think so he can see daddy. This morning I heard him in his crib saying "dada" over the monitor. And he's talking to the family portrait that hangs on the wall. Poor baby misses his daddy!
Tessa is doing much better than I thought she would. He was gone for a couple of nights earlier in the month and she had a very hard time with it - cried at bed time and had bad dreams. She ended up sleeping with me last time. This time she's been fine.
And I have been, too. I always say that I couldn't be one of those women with husbands that travel constantly - NOT for me! But the truth is that you adapt very quickly. Life is more difficult without his help, but it's easier in ways, too. Everything is right where I've left it. The house is cleaner - not because he's messy, just because it's one less person to clean up after. Dinner time is easy, because I'm not cooking anything great, which means cleanup is easy, too.
I don't like that I've gotten used to it. I want him to come home - now.
Okay - enough of that!
Tessa had Spring Break last Thursday and Friday and this Monday. I promised her a playdate, but she ended up having a Birthday party on Thursday, so I didn't have to deliver. hahaha!
Friday was my Birthday/spa day and daddy stayed home with the kids. It's a treat for them to have one on one time with daddy, and they both enjoyed it.
Saturday we went to the mall and had pictures taken with Sebastian and McKenzie. Lisa had Moody Equipment hats made for the kids and we ordered a large print for Jesse's Birthday in April. We also had Easter pictures done, which turned out very cute.

The more I think about it, though, the more I am interested in photography as a business. I'd only do outdoor sittings, since I don't have a studio and I don't know how to work with artificial lights. But I have an eye for it, and a talent for posing, I think. My prices are less than Kiddie Kandids - which is disgusting. Anyway, it's a thought.
Back to Spring Break!
Monday we met Becki at the Library. It was my first time at a Library in about 7 years, and the first time Tessa has ever been. It was fun. She really enjoyed herself. I let her borrow two movies and a book for loading at school. I got the book I was looking for - yay!
Normally we buy everything, becuase Matt and I are both re-readers, and books feel like a worthy investment. But I've been reading a lot lately - at least 10 books in the past 3 months - and it's getting to be an expensive habit!
After the library we stopped at the IFA to see the baby chicks and ducks. They were so cute! There were rabbits there, too. Tessa is still talking about the animals.
I need to write a post about my Birthday, but I'm running out of time. I am going to lunch today with my mom, Becki and Gretchen. I need to workout before we go, so it's time to get moving! I'll write again soon.
