Family Pictures

A couple of weeks ago Lynette, Matt's cousin that lives in Las Vegas, came to Utah for a visit.
Lynette and I got in touch through our blogs a year or so ago.  We immediately hit it off, we have a lot in common, being almost exactly the same age and each having young children (she has 3 boys!)
We've talked a lot about getting together for a visit, but haven't made it happen until now. Meeting in person was a blast! Lynette is adorable and her boys are so much fun!
Besides getting to have a fun visit, we also got our pictures taken :)
Lynette is a very talented photographer, she takes especially amazing candid shots of kids.  She was nice enough to take time away from her boys, her mom and her sisters family to walk us around Wheeler Farm and photograph us.
If you live in the Vegas area, check out her website.

I wore a pencil skirt that was a size too big for me. I tried to alter it, and in person I thought it looked fine, but in the pictures it made me look huge.  Seriously - 10 pounds heavier.  I spent a LOT of time looking in the mirror before we went, because I was very concerned about the fit. Altering it was difficult, because I was not about to take the zipper out.  Instead I had to work around it, which was almost impossible.  While it wasn't a GOOD fit, I'm confident that I looked better in person than I did in pictures. The skirt gave me ripples and bulges and bulk that really isn't mine. My body's not that great. I can't afford to make it look worse.  Even Matt said "oh...those aren't good..."
I was so disappointed at first!
Not to mention embarrassed! Lynette must think I'm a cow!
(lesson: do not wear ill fitting clothes for pictures. The camera will out you without a moments hesitation.)

Anyway...
A day or two later I remembered - I know how to edit in photoshop! (duh)
So I used the liquify tool and fixed some bulges on my lower half.  Much better now :)

(yes - that's my but AFTER it's been fixed)

Here they are - aren't they gorgeous?! Lynette really has an eye for background and she uses the light beautifully.  Fall is my favorite time of year, I love the colors in the background.

Thank you, Lynette!!! We can't wait until you visit again - for a little longer!

Thanks for the kind words on my blog! I actually got the vintage truck pictures on our engagement pictures. It's my husbands truck, we used it as a prop or our pictures and the photographer went a little crazy :) I love your family pictures, they are pricless!
