Today is Matt's 30th Birthday!
Happy Birthday, baby!!!
i love you
30 seems like a big Birthday! I'm reminded of the Tim McGraw song, My Next 30 Years. This is how we are going to look at our 30s - not like we're getting old, but like we're at the perfect age to be who we are.
(Not that Matt thinks of himself as old - I'm afraid that's just me! lol)
"I think I'll take a moment, celebrate my age,
ending of an era and the turning of a page.
Now it's time to focus in on where I go from here,
Lord, have mercy on my next 30 years"
My favorite line...
"My next 30 years will be the best years of my life
raise a little family and hang out with my wife
spend precious moments with the ones that I hold dear
make up for lost time here, in my next 30 years."
We are going to Las Vegas to celebrate. A weekend away sounds like heaven right now, though I'm already worried about missing the kids. What is wrong with me that 2 nights seems like a long time???
Honestly, I'm sure we'll be having too much fun for me to miss them too much!
We're going to see a show, shop, hang out in the casino's, have lunch with Matt's cousin Lynette and her husband...
Oh - and the forecast is SUNNY and in the HIGH 60's while we're there.
(here, it's supposed to be 40 degrees and snowing)
I can't wait.
This morning we gave the kids their Valentine's gifts early, then we ate pancakes and bacon and daddy opened his gifts. Tessa gave him a book (House of Suns), Asher gave him a DVD (Rome) and I gave him a shirt.
In just a bit L'Jean will be here to keep the kids while we're gone and we'll be off to the airport.
Hopefully I'll have some pictures to share with you when we get back!
