Halloween 2010 was the best so far!
Asher was very into it this year - much more so than he has been in the past. He talked about trick or treating for weeks before the actual day!
Asher asked to be a monkey - which was a bit of a surprise to me! I was expecting him to want to be something more grown up - Spiderman or a Pirate or something! I was more than happy to let him be a monkey, though!
I made his costume - copied a Pottery Barn one that I really liked. It turned out cute, and he loved it.
Tessa originally wanted to be a Witch, which I was very excited about - but changed her mind when she found out about the pageant. So she was a pumpkin princess. I made the costume using about 20 yards of tulle. She loved it and looked darling.
(see more of Tessa in her dress in the pageant post!)
On Halloween night Grandma and Grandpa came by to see the kids in their costumes. They showed up just before we were going to eat dinner, so we talked them into staying. Then the kids changed into their costumes to show them off. They did their best to talk Grandma into taking them trick or treating, but after 20 years of taking kids out, Grandma was ready for a rest!
Daddy took them, instead, and mommy got talked into coming out about halfway through. It was cold and there was a light drizzle the whole time we walked around, but it was fun! We only stayed out for a little bit, and the candy's almost gone, now.
Oh, and Matt and I went as Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf. Here we are :)
Next up, Thanksgiving!
