Preschool for Asher!

Our little man has started preschool!
He's going to the same Alta High School Mini-Hawks program that Tessa went to. His teacher (Maddison) is the younger sister of the girl that taught Tessa when she went there! She requested him and just loves him (how could she not!?)
Despite some nerves (he was reluctant to turn 4 because he didn't want to go to school!) he was a total champ on the first day of school and said goodbye with a smile.
Whew!

Funny story:
The day of orientation all the parents were in a classroom with the director, hearing about the program. The kids were in the preschool room, working with their teachers. When we came out, they were all on the rug, singing songs. They finished up "The Wheels on the Bus" and then the question was asked
"who has a song they want to sing now?"
Asher's hand shot up, and when he was called on he said "Life is a Highway"
The teachers really got a kick out of it, and I explained that it's his favorite song of all time :)

He loves his school!
Q and A with Ash:
What's your favorite thing about school?
Painting
Do you have friends at school?
Yeah...but I forgot their names.
Do you remember your teachers name?
Yeah. It's Maddy.
What else do you like about school.
Singing songs.

He is very different than Tessa! One of those questions would have inspired a 20 minute monologue from her! From him...a very clear, concise answer. Not sure if that's a boy thing, or just an Asher thing, but I'm still getting used to it!

Mommy's favorite thing about preschool?
It's not the alone time. I hate that.
It's not his newfound independence. Not a huge fan of that, either.
It's definitely not how big he seems when he runs into class without a backward glance. (sadface)

It's the way he launches himself at me when I pick him up - literally jumping through the air and trusting me to catch him as he gives me a monster hug.

I love that.

Wait, isn't Maddi the younger sister of Aaron Ludwig?
