Matt and I have now been to three costume parties this month. Natalie's party last weekend was the last one for us. Soon we'll be focusing on Kid Halloween! (more on that later)

The night of Kill and Andrea's wedding, (October 10) L'Jean had her Birthday at Classic Skating. It was awesome. I had a Birthday party at Classic once - I think I was 9 and Becki was 6. My mom made construction paper roller skates with googley eyes on them for the invitation. I mentioned that at the party, and James was kind enough to point out that it had been nearly 2 decades since then. Thanks, James.
Anyway, we skated in our Halloween costumes. This years weren't quite ready yet, so we wore last years. Matt was a cop, I was a referee. Here we are!
Matt said his calves also hurt, but I didn't have any soreness there. Maybe the calve soreness comes from stopping. I couldn't stop on my own...I just slowed until a stop, or relied on Matt to do it for me.I remember, as a kid, being able to skate fairly well. In particular, I remember being able to skate alone. Not so this time. I had to hold Matt's hand almost all night. Not that I minded, of course, but I did feel kind of like a dork. I remember I used to be able to do this thing where I would bend into a crouch with one leg stretched out straight in front of me...it was awesome. As the night went on I got a lot braver and finally attempted it - I fell, of course. In fact, as the night went on I began to fall quite often. I came home with several bruises - all well worth it. It was so fun! We'll deffinitely be skating again, soon!
The Moody kids - L'Jean, Matt, Ryan and Jessica.

On the 18th, Becki and I threw a joint Halloween party at my house. Natalie throws a Halloween party every year and this year she planned to have it here, so we started making plans. She changed her mind, though, and decided to have it at her moms house, instead. Since Becki and I had already invited some friends and made a few plans, we decided to go ahead and throw our own the weekend before hers.
It was lots of fun to have a joint party - tons of people came, since we invited all of her friends and all of mine. We missed Kill and Andrea, because they were on their Honeymoon, and Matt and Mary and Julie and Barry weren't able to come, either. Even without them we had a full house! It was a great party :)
We made tons of food - all finger food/appetizer stuff. I made bacon wrapped jalepenos, twice baked potatoes, garlic cheese bread and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, plus a green beverage with dry ice - so cute! Becki made BBQ chicken wings, little smokies, appetizer pizzas and cupcakes. Her friend, Jamie, brought more dessert - awesome brownies and pudding cup things. There was SO much food - and when people started eating it was gone within about 15 minutes - I was shocked! I've never seen food go so fast! LOL, I guess it was good.
This years Halloween costumes were ready by then, of course. Matt and I were PIRATES this year! Quite appropriate with all the recent news of those Somalian Pirates, we thought ;) Plus, I got to put eye liner and eye shadow on Matt, which was awesome.
Becki and Colby were cops - he's SWAT team, of course, though Becki made him leave his guns at home (as far as I know!)

Last weekend was Natalie's party. It was lots of fun! Nat asked me to make Chili, like last year. She made scones and then everyone was supposed to bring a dish to share.
We wore out pirate costumes again, though this time I wore fishnet tights instead of thigh highs (thigh highs are a pain!!!) and my hair was straight, instead of curled. Fun to get to try different looks! Matt's eye makeup wasn't as good for this party, though - I think I went a little heavy this time, lol
I managed to completely forget a group picture at any of the parties, oops!
There are MANY more to see at my photobucket album. Photobucket has finally added a "Organize Album" feature, and everything is in chronological order - yay!
If you decide to look, keep in mind that these were adult parties :)

Looks like fun! Last year for Halloween, I went dressed up as a Mormon missionary. I had two parties to visit, one for my law school, one for my congregation. The folks at my law school party thought it was the best thing ever. The folks at my church party asked why I was dressed as a heathen.
You're too cute! Though, seriously...isn't a Mormon missionary costume a bit of a cop out? I mean, how lazy can you get? LOL
