Anyway -
We had a great Christmas!
Christmas Eve was spent with Matt's family. Lisa and Mike weren't able to visit from Georgia this year, and we missed them, but everyone else was there. We had dinner and played games and talked about Christmas. It was nice.
We didn't get home until about 9:30. Poor Asher has a nasty cold and wouldn't go to sleep until he was in his own bed, despite Matt trying to get him to sleep in Grandma and Grandpa's bed. Both kids were out with 5 minutes of their heads hitting the pillow at home, though.
Matt and I were up until midnight setting up Christmas. The Jeep took longer than expected to put together. Totally worth it, though!
Asher was up at about 6:00 the next morning - he couldn't breath, poor baby. Tessa slept until 7:30, though! Ash watched Mickey in our bed until Tess got up.
They were both totally spoiled, of course. My goal this year was to do less than last year, and I did - but it was still a lot. We set only a few gifts out to be from Santa. Three - to represent the gifts the wisemen brought to Baby Jesus. Although this year we did 3 gifts, plus books. Tessa must have said a million times that she wanted Santa to bring her a book, so the books pretty much HAD to be from him. Everything else was from us, though. Almost all of it was wrapped, though we did leave the jeep (for Ash) and the cradle (for Tess) unwrapped.
They were thrilled with their toys. Asher went straight for the Jeep, despite the fact that we kind of tucked it away, so he wouldn't notice it first thing. Tessa was obsessive about unwrapping, she went through all her gifts ridiculously fast.
Matt spoiled me, like he always does. The cutest thing, though, was that he got me a wireless mouse for my laptop (I really love my touch pad, but it's been hurting my wrist lately) and he used big sequins for eyes and a piece of curled ribbon for the tail - making it look like a little mouse. So funny!
We made pancakes and bacon for breakfast - the kids favorites. Then Matt and I had to tunnel out of the driveway so we could visit my family.
The weather was AWFUL. We got about 6 inches on Christmas Eve and overnight. On Christmas Day we got about 10 more inches. On the 26th we got another 12 inches or so. It's been one Hell of a storm.

At my parents house the kids got their presents - Tessa got her own little sewing machine and Asher got a tricycle. They both loved their gifts, although Asher did NOT want the ribbon streamers my mom had tied to the handle bars on the bike. Luckily, boy scout uncle Colby had a pocket knife on him and cut them off ASAP.
Becki and Colby gave my parents a little box and asked them to open it together. Inside was a bunch of tissue paper and a tab that said "pull"...
Attatched to the end was a long ribbon with the words "Surprise! We have a baby on the way!" attached to it. At the end was a pacifier to make it hang straight.
It was so cute!
Becki told me a couple days before - as the result of some family drama - so I had just enough time to go shopping (on Christmas Eve!) and buy a gift for the baby.
I cannot wait for this baby!!! More about that, later.
We didn't stay at my parents house for long - Asher needed a nap and Tessa was anxious to play with her toys.
Our Christmas afternoon/evening was nice and mellow. Matt's parents and L'Jean stopped by to see the kids new stuff. I made a roast for dinner and we watched Wall.E as our annual Christmas night movie.
