My Near Death Experience

I've been sick on Christmas almost every year that I can remember.  Not terribly sick - just a cold or flu symptoms.  This year, I skipped it.  Lucky me!
Instead, it hit a few days after Christmas.
Sunday night I had a sore throat.  Monday I was sicker, Tuesday much sicker.  Wednesday was a bad day, but we had our annual New Years Party that night, so I just took a bunch of drugs and tried to ignore the sore throat, the fact that I couldn't breath, the pounding headache, the chills and aches. (feel bad for me yet?)
Thursday was awful.  AWFUL.  Thank God Matt was home to take care of me!
I stayed in bed ALL day.  He said it's the first time he can ever remember me doing that.  Even when I was on bed rest while pregnant with Asher I was up and around all the time.  Thursday I was so miserable that I could barely move.  In addition to the cold symptoms, something nasty crawled into my intestines and was causing trouble there.
Thursday night was really, really scary.  I'll spare you the details.  I will say, however, that I thought I was dying.  I woke Matt up about 3:30 to tell him I loved him and not to remarry too quickly.  Or ever.
Yesterday was a bit better.  I left the bedroom (the sheets needed to be washed, after all) and lounged on the couch most of the day.  The pounding headache that I'd been living with since Tuesday dissipated.  I ate...and my body allowed me to retain the food.
This morning I woke up feeling pretty good!  I'm considering leaving the house.  We'll see.

Thank God my husband is such an excellent nurse.  I love you, baby!
I did manage to lose 5 pounds during my illness!  It's too bad I have to replenish my bodily fluids, or else I could keep that weight off.

Yikes! That sounds awful. We've been under the weather here, too. Today is the first day I've felt good since December 7th. Too long!!! Hope you shape up soon.
