March Fitness

I'm slow on my update...
but proud of my March fitness!

My New Years resolution to write my workouts on my calendar was absolutely inspired.  I can't tell you what a huge difference it's made to KNOW where I'm at.  To be able to look at the calendar and see that I almost never work out on Fridays, that I start the week strong with tougher, longer workouts and end the week weak with shorter, wimpier workouts...
It's really helped me to see those things.

In March I started weight training again.  I tend to do all cardio, all the time, because weight lifting feels like a waste of time - I don't sweat enough to feel like I've worked out.  I also retain water after lifting, so the next day the scale is often up half a pound, and that's just terrible for my psychosis.  Still, I know how important it is, so I was determined to add it back in this month.
I also forced myself to graduate from my all-time favorite DVD workout, Start it Up, to the next workout in the series...the far more difficult (and 15 minutes longer) Ramp it Up.
I figured this is the perfect time of year for me to spend time in the gym.  By the time June rolls around Tessa will be out of school, we'll have swimming lessons and play dates and yard work...my workouts will suffer, then.  So I tried hard to put in longer workouts in March.

Anyway -
In January...                            In February...
245 min treadmill                   285 min treadmill
19.25 miles                              23.05 miles
280 min elliptical                    411 min elliptical
30 min DVD                            35 min DVD
560 min total                          726 min total
9.3 hours                                 12.1 hours

In March...
I spent 370 minutes on the treadmill -
and went 32 miles!
I spent 335 minutes on the elliptical
I spent 60 minutes lifting weights - (in 10-15 minute increments after my cardio)
I spend 90 minutes doing DVD workouts
Total 855 minutes
14.25 hours

In April I'm going to keep track of how many crunches I do.  Maybe that will inspire me to do more of them!
