I had a lot of free time in the evenings.
To fill it, I watched a lot of HGTV and I did a lot of projects.
Friends made fun of me because every time they came over something was new or different. I painted constantly, Matt's co-workers joked that the square footage of our house reduced every time he worked a night shift.
When we moved into this house I was super-pregnant.
(Super-pregnant, for those of you who haven't heard the term, does not refer to any pregnancy related super-powers, but instead to the 36.5 weeks that I had been growing my son and to the hundreds of pounds I had gained during that time.)
So, first I was super-pregnant, and then I had a newborn and a recovery and then it was the Holiday season and then I was focusing on the yard that we had to put in...
Long story (somewhat) shorter...we've lived here for 2.5 years and I've recently begun looking around and realizing that my home is just barely decorated. I've neglected all kinds of things, like window treatments (beyond blinds) and pretty throw pillows. And that makes me sad.
I'm kidding.
But really - I'm on a major decorating kick right now.
I have a folder in my favorites that I've named "Crafty Stuff" and right at the top is The Nesting Place. I love her blog - especially the window mistreatments. Her stuff is so much fun that I'm considering adding a Nester button to my blog. In the meantime, I'm just copying her window dressing ideas in every room I can get to :)
Tessa, aka whiner-face-girl (not to be confused with whiner-face-boy) began whining at almost the exact second that I finished Asher's bedroom that SHE wanted a re-do, too!
Now, Tessa's room is the one room in the house that was thoroughly decorated when we moved in - including window treatments and throw pillows. I even painted the walls pink at her request.
But I'm a sucker, and she's really cute...
So I've spent all week in her room. First cleaning, then re-painting the walls, moving the furniture, making new curtains...
I plan to finish by Saturday and have some fabulous before and after pictures for you :)
